Good morning 3rd grade families,
I am wondering if any of you would be interested in facilitating a "book club" once a week. This would involve coming into class once a week for 30 minutes to an hour and discussing a book with a small group of children. The children would need to meet initially to select a book that they would read during their independent reading time. I did this as a parent when my older child was in 3rd and 4th grade and it was one of the funnest and most rewarding experiences I have had as a volunteer.
Readers' workshop is from 9:45 to 11:00 on M/T/W with 213 and from 2:15 to 3:30 on M/T/W with 211. You could start the week of December 14th or, if you would prefer, you could start when we get back from winter break.
Let me know!

Reading Challenge
(Reading Log in Homework link)
Ms. Darcy has thrown down the gauntlet! Third grade has accepted the challenge to read more minutes/hours than second grade. There are MORE second graders, but the third graders are determined to beat them in the race! So, keep logging those minutes on the reading logs.
